'Season 2' is Premiering Tonight, But First...

Kellie and I were debating whether to continue doing WTTD after the loss of our dear sister Jenna. She was our number one fan. Sometimes we tend to say random things on there, but they're usually some sort of inside joke, and she was always in on it. We'd always here from her almost right away after posting a new video. And in what seems like the blink of an eye, she was gone.

It hit us both really hard. Ask our other friends. Us three were a force to be reckoned with. When she worked with us at our store, if you saw one, you usually saw the other two. Once she went to a different store, we still talked almost daily, whether it be on the phone or through text. And to have that taken away was heartbreaking. No warning. No preparing. It just happened.

We had alot of support from our family and friends, and Jenna's family and friends as well. But me and Kellie definitely leaned on each other a lot to cope and try to accept the reality of it. We ended up just recording our conversations, because we do have random conversations. And after talking about it, we decided to continue with WTTD. For us and for our #1 fan.

So, some insight into episode I of season II. We recorded new credits. We filmed them on the dam where we recorded our episode with Jenna. We felt like that it would be like we were still somehow including her in it. And truth be told, I don't think this is our best episode to date. There's no earthquake to make fun of. No hurricane disasters. But it's my favorite to date, because these random conversations are just a small reflection of the countless hours that me and Kellie spent together. They represent the laughs that we needed in our life at the time.

Some people may think our show is stupid. And I'm okay with that. We started doing this for our own entertainment mostly, and for the most part, we still do. We are glad that other people do enjoy it as well though, and we hope we can continue to make you laugh. Sometimes a little laughter can soothe a lot of hurt.

iPhone vs. Android According to Kellie

There has been a lot of talk as of late about the new iPhone that is suppose to come out on September 21, 2012. In case you guys haven't noticed by now, Alan and I are on team iPhone. Some of our friends, however, are on team android all day long. The debates on facebook have prompted me to make a post on our blog.

Now, unlike my team android friends, I am not speaking as a person who has never used an android phone. That might be why I have a little bit of issue with people who say they don't like the iPhone and that android phones are either "just as good" or "better" than the iPhone. I have had 2 android phones and I know what happens with them. I know that one app can freeze up the ENTIRE operating system. So you end up having to try to turn off your phone by taking the damn battery out. With iPhone, apps do freeze up, but iOS keeps going. App freezes, app closes, app gets reopened in a matter of seconds. Done deal. No restarting. No opening of the battery compartment.

Now, how quickly does your battery die, android friends? I'll tell you. It's a hell of a lot quicker than the iPhone. Let's face it, all smart phones have battery lives that are nothing compared to the battery life of an old school Nokia. Hell, there are nokias that are 8 years old that still haven't been charged and are at 10% battery power as we speak. But there is a whole operating system that runs the phone, not including any apps, that take a ton of the battery power. I have seen people looking around for their chargers because their androids are at 10% at 12:00 pm after it was fully charged at 7 am. Me and my iPhone are going strong at between 65-94% depending on my usage for the day (ie: wifi use, playing song pop, and any other major battery draining apps). And that's without an extra charge.

Oh, so you have access to a ton more apps than I do? I somehow doubt that. Let's be honest, how many apps do we really need? We all have access to the same major apps for the same prices(facebook, twitter, words with friends, etc) and I don't put my iPhone at risk for a virus. Oh, you can get the Super Nintendo app? So can I! It's called Jail Break, bitches. A couple of simple steps and I have the same access that you have, without the viruses. The truth is that you guys have no more or no better access to apps than I do.

Oh, the sales man at Verizon said that your samsung galaxy is just as good or better than the iPhone? Is it because of a still glitchy operating system, or because it's the size of a tablet? Maybe it's because they make about $20 on the Samsung vs. about $5 on the iPhone. That's the real truth. The sales people at Verizon don't make a ton of money on iPhones. That's why they try to steer you away. And 8 times out of 10, they do. And when they do that, they are the only ones "winning".

There's nothing anyone can say that can convince me that the android is the superior operating system. And the things I'm saying may not change your mind about your android. You either like one or the other. But, I think I have proven my point. Every argument you have for the android will be countered. The point is that there are cell phones and then there are iPhones. There are good phones and there are iPhones. I think Apple put it best:

If you don't have an iPhone, you don't have an iPhone.

Season 2 update

We've been thinking of plenty of ideas for our upcoming Season 2. While we have not firmly set a date for the release of the first episode from this new season, it will likely be mid to late October. We have plenty to talk about, plenty to make fun of. We're just starting to get everything in motion. We also have not decided on how many episodes will make up Season 2, but we have decided it will be at least a couple more than Season 1 had. We're expecting to start filming the new episode on September 21st and hopefully wrap it up in a couple of weeks. We're looking forward to bringing the show back and hope you enjoy what's in store for WTTD.

the [dot]

Welcome to the newly designed blog of WTTD. We've added two new sections to the site, both of which are under construction to a point. And for 'My Baby's Got a Beer Gut', we could use YOUR help! If you see someone with a beer gut hanging out in inappropriate clothing, snap a pic and email it to us at whatthetripledot@gmail.com and we'll post it on that page, credited to you of course. :)

We're excited with what's coming and we've got some big plans. Not a definite release date for Season 2 yet, but we'll let you know as soon as we have decided.

Stay with us! Thanks for all of your support the past few months. Our friends are amazing and they would have been much harder to get through without you.

Jenna Conwell Winn 5/6/1982-5/30/2012

Forever missed Punkins/JDubb

In place of our planned "season finale", we have decided  to make a tribute video for our sister/friend Jenna who passed away this past week.

After that, we're going to take some time off for awhile. We both need time to mourn and heal her loss.

We will likely do more in the future. If nothing else, because Jenna really liked them. And it would be our honor to continue to do something she enjoyed in dedication to her.
